The Hôtel des Tourelles is located in a beautiful 19th century building, along the Rhône river between the station and the town centre. It's location makes it a great choice for travelers interested in old-town exploration, shopping and business district, walking and convenient public transportation. The Geneva-Cornavin Railway Station is less than 5 minutes walk and the Ferry Terminal is only 0.6 miles.
the quarter of La Cité and the quarter of Saint-Gervais formed the old city of Geneva, which was surround by a wall of both sides of the river. The wall was destroyed in 1850, and the Coulouvrenière bridge was erected in 1857 to connect both sides of the river.
The building that currently houses the Hotel des Tourelles was built in 1885 and its turrets are the reason for the hotel’s name. In the early 1900s the Tourelles became a pension.
started in the 1960s and underwent major renovations since the 1980s. While having retained their original character, the hotel's 22 rooms are now equipped with private showers and toilets.
The Hotel has new management as of year 2019 and is undergoing major branding and service optimizations.
The hotel is warm, spotlessly clean and the rooms all have immense character. Breakfast is a simple but perfectly good buffet. If you prefer the predictability of a chain hotel, this may not be for you - but if you want a great value stay in a character building this is definitely recommended.
